dc.description.abstractUsing the covariance of Maxwell's equations and the phase invariance principle of plane waves, distortion of the electromagnetic pulses undergoing total internal reflection from a moving dielectric half-space has been studied. It is concluded that the distortion of the reflected pulse depends strongly upon the velocity, direction of motion, and angle of incidence.en
