dc.description.abstractA personal computer based mode control for a chopper fed separately excited Dc motor is presented.The switching vector is designed using projector theory and a boundary layer control is implemented to minimize chattering.The data acquisition system developed around the IBM compatible computer computer feeds revelant data into the microprocessor and after execution of the control algorithm the procssor control algorithm the processor control the duty-ratio of the chopper through a direct digital control scheme.A user friendly software is developed,in which the programme for various standard routines are written in assembly language and its binery files obtained after assembly are linking are called from Turbo pascal programme.The predicted and exprimental characteristic curves are observed on the moniter and are transferred to the plotter for further reference.The experimantal setup has been fabricated and tested in the labortary environment and the results are campared with those with the state feedback control. The results are found to be satisfactory and a close agreement is observed betwwen the pedicted and the measured responce.en
