| Abstract: | This paper presents a hybrid fuzzy logic proportional plus conventional integral-derivative controller (FP+ID) for the speed control of a permanent magnet brushless DC (PMBLDC) motor. Though PID controllers are commonly used in practice, they have failed to perform satisfactory under nonlinearity, load disturbances, parameter variation, etc. In this paper, the performance of the permanent magnet brushless DC motor drive is examined with a hybrid controller which is a combination of fuzzy logic and conventional controller. This controller shows improved performance compared to PID speed controller. |
