| Abstract: | This paper investigates the performance of a Fuzzy Supervisory Controller (FSC) in control of power converters. An FSC module is added to a conventional narrow bandwidth voltage regulator in a Power Factor Corrected (PFC) Voltage Source Converter (VSC) to improve DC bus voltage regulation. A PFC converter is selected for this work as its conventional design requires a narrow bandwidth DC bus voltage regulator to negate the effect of twice line frequency in the feedback path leading to slow voltage dynamics. This work demonstrates the efficacy of FSC in improving DC bus voltage regulation of the VSC with a conventional voltage regulator. |
