| Abstract: | The influence of changes in rotational speed on the dynamics of rotating blades is investigated. The governing non-linear integro-partial differential equations, for uniform rates of acceleration, derived in an earlier paper are presented. The static force arising during the process, due to the tangential acceleration of the blade, is analyzed. The blade is set into vibrations due to this static force. The blade shock is simultaneously influenced by changing blade stiffness and other operating parameters. The response to the governing non-linear equation is obtained numerically by using the Runge-Kutta technique in conjunction with the Galerkin method. The influence of geometric and operational parameters on blade vibration is also presented. |
