Abstract: The electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole to polyprolle on the surface of single crystal cadmium telluride is faster and takes place at lower potential under illumination than in the dark due to photoproduced holes. Photoelectrochemical characteristics of bare and coated electrodes are examined in polysulphide and polyiodide electrolytes. While the performance of both bare and coated electrodes is poor in polysulphide, in polyiodide photocorrosion of cadmium telluride is partially suppressed.
