| description.abstract | [ArTe(XTSC)2]Cl (XTSC = benzaldehyde/salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone) reacts with sodium salts of dithiocarbamates (DTC) and xanthates (XNT) in a 1 : 2 molar ratio resulting in the formation of [ArTe(DTC/XNT)(NaDTC/XNT)]. IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectral data of these tellurium(II) complexes in conjunction with their elemental analyses, molecular weights and conductance in solution suggest that the two ---CSS- groups coordinate in different ways. One is probably in the η2-mode and the other in either asymmetrically chelated or essentially in the η1 mode. They do not exhibit conductance, probably due to strong Na---S association and exist as monomers in solution | en |
