Abstract: The kinetic invariant proposed earlierfor dissolution followed by chemical reaction of large,monodisperse particles(A N Bhaskarwar,AIchE J,37(1991)340-346)Has been extend for large polydisperes particals by means of a population balance. Approximate analytical expression for the practical size distribution as a function of time have been presented for several standered initial distributions.These solution are valid for the general transition regime,i.e diffusion and kinetic control,are deduced as special cases of the general solution.The model is compared with expermental results reported in literature.
