Abstract: Surface was confermity characterized in an eariler study(27)on the basis of composite roughness profile.In this paper the influance of surface conformity in luberication is reported.The resuls of experiments under high slide/roll ratio are first analysed in terms of A,the ratio of film thickness of composite roughness.Experiment with surface having different degrees of confermity under low slide /roll ratio are then discribed.The lubrication is again analysed in terms of the A,ratio for these cases.Surface roughness can itself modify the nomical film thickness and its relevence to the present problem has been discussed on the basis of exciting literature.It is shown that the asperity level conformity results in improved lubrication
