Abstract: Microbial desulphurization of coal using a pyrite oxidizing organism such as thiobacllus fer rooxidans result in approximately 90% pytiric sulphur reduction in 30d. An integrated technique comprised in bacterial preconditioning and subsequent oil agglomeration is concered with surface modification of the pyrite with short contacts (2 240 min)with a culture of thiobacillus ferooxidence and its rejection during agglomeration coal(250m)was preconditiond with the bacterial culture for 2.5-30min before subjecting it to oil agglomeration.About 75-80%ash rejection and 90-97% pytric sulphur reduction(PSRD)have been obtained.Extending preconditioned for 240min could not improve the (PSRD)BRYOND 97%.By increasing practical size from-240m to-800+400m the pytric sulphur reduction(PSRD)decreased from 97-71%whereas prolonging the preconditioned period to 240min enhanced the (PSRD)to90%.The integrated technique has considerably reduce the time requirment from 20-30d to 20-240min in order to obtained ...
