Abstract: The microstructure of poly(trans-4-acryloyloxyazobenzene) P(AB)homopolymer prepared,by solution polymerization using AIBN as initiator is analysed by-one-two dimensional NMR spectrotcopy.Sequency distribution was calculated from 13C(1H)n.m.r spectrum of the homopolymer.A 13C distortionless enhancement by polymerization transfer spectrum was used to differentiate between resonace signals of methine and methylene units in the homopolyer.The tiad sequence distribution of poly(trans-4-acrylyloxyazobenezene)P(AB),determined from carbonyl resoance of the holopolymer,is in good agreement with the triad concentration calculated from the bernollian statistical model.2D heteronclear single quantum correlation(HSQC)and correlated spectroscopy(COSY)spectroscopy was used to analyse the complex 1Hn.m.r spectrum.Homonuclear 2DTOCSY n.m.r spectroscopy was used to ascertain the various configurational sequence of the poly(trans-4-acryloyloxyazobenzene P(AB)homopolymer.2D NOESY expriment was carried out to be determine one of the many probable conformation of the homopolymer in solution state.
