Abstract: Differential and binary differential join-transform correlators are found to be associated with high tolerence to illumination variation of the reference and target.This makes them suitable for illumination independent pattern recognition application.Computer simulation result show that a tolerence limit as high as an amplitude ratio of 0.25 between the target and the reference emage can be attained.As a refinemint to the above mentioned techenque.We suggest the use of isotropic difference operater.We also present some exprimental results for the differential type JTCs.
